Obituary of Viola E. Croft

Viola E. Croft, age 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 17, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 6, 1930, in Bradford, Ohio. She moved to Florida in 1945 with her parents, Verbie and Treva Barga and siblings. Viola was a cheerleader and basketball player at Gulf High School, where she graduated in 1948. She was an avid outdoorswoman; hunting, fishing, and camping with her family and friends. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Croft, Jr., and her siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Rose, and stepdaughter, Laurie Croft, grandchildren, Maria Curl, Ken Abare, Rachel Rose, Joshua Rose, Mark Rose, Gabe Rose, John Rose, Diana Rose, Matt Rose, Michael Rose, Debbi Shelbaugh, Bonnie Douglas, David Rose, and Brandy Raechelle. She was also blessed with 35 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews. Viola was the matriarch of a very large, loving family! Papa’s Nana (Pop’s Nan/Pop’s Nanny) leaves behind a legacy of love. She made a lasting impression on every person she ever met! This quote perfectly sums up the impact she had while on this earth. “If you’re going to live, leave a legacy. Make a mark on the world that can’t be erased.” – Maya Angelou In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in Viola’s name to Pasco-Hernando Hospice or Quantum Leap Farm. We invite you to a celebration of the life she lived to the fullest on Saturday, August 20th @ 3:00 p.m. at Quantum Leap Farm. Please call or text us at 727-364-1470 to let us know if you can attend.
