Please share a memory of Wilbur to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Wilbur Samuel Adams Sr. was born on March 21st, 1953 in Abington, PA and he passed away on July 27th, 2021 in Port Richey, FL at the age of 68. Wilbur lived in and around Philadelphia, PA, from birth until he was 34, when he moved his family across the country to a small town named Coos Bay on the coast of Oregon. After seven rainy years in Oregon, and yearning to try life in the high country, Wilbur moved his family to the mountains of Livingston, Montana. After seven frigid years in Montana, he decided to try one more move and took the family to Port Richey, Florida; where he remained until his death. Wilbur was born to Tom and Rita Adams and had five siblings. His older siblings were Rod and Cookie, and his younger siblings were Patty, Tom Jr. and Michael, who preceded him in death. He recently celebrated his 49th wedding anniversary to his wife Anna on July 1st, and leaves behind five children and one more that he raised as his own (his nephew Al McGinnis Jr.). His children are Wilbur Jr, Shawn, Heather, Danielle and Sadie. In addition, leaves behind a total of 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Wilbur had two main passions in life, helping people and fixing things. When someone needed help, he never said no and would literally give the shirt off of his back to help someone in need. Everyone who met Wilbur almost immediately came to love him as a caring and kind man. He was also blessed with an engineering mind and unmatched mechanical abilities. He had careers in fixing cars before moving on to something bigger, buses. Not satisfied, he even went to work repairing locomotive engines too. His other career took him the opposite direction, repairing things that required high powered magnification, jewelry. After he graduated jewelry repair and design school in 1987, he quickly gained a reputation in town as the “go to guy” who can fix anything. He even had other master jewelers bring their repairs to him because they were unable to complete the repairs themselves. He excelled in anything he applied himself to, no matter the profession or hobby. Since his passing, friends and family are sharing stories and memories and they all have the same theme. Wilbur was one of the kindest and most humble human beings who loved to laugh, always rooted for the underdog, and was willing to believe any good conspiracy involving aliens or the government. Sadly, his dream of sailing the world will not be fulfilled, but the legacy of love and kindness he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of all he touched for generations to come.
