William G. Phillips, Sr., 83, from Erie, PA and currently residing in Holiday, FL went to eternal rest Friday, February 26, 2021. Born February 11, 1938 he was married for 60 years to his wife Patricia Bedner Phillips. Together, Bill and Pat raised five children in Millcreek Township, Erie County, PA. ‘Mr. Bill’ was a plumber for over 50 years. In his younger years he was active in his community driving ambulance, serving as deputy sheriff, and singing in his church choir and the Knights of Columbus choir. Bill enjoyed golfing, bowling, going to the casino, and being a ‘fixer of all’ for family and friends. He was a loyal and honest man and brought laughter and warmth to all who knew him. Bill is preceded in death by his son Anthony Phillips, his parents William A. Phillips and Ethel Olson Phillips, and sisters Betty Phillips Lindy and Phyllis Phillips. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons William Phillips, Jr., wife Stacy of Marlton, NJ; Richard Phillips, wife Tracey of Woodbury, NJ; Thomas Phillips, wife Crystal of Erie, PA; daughter Tracey Vernon, husband Brent of Mechanicsburg, PA; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; many cousins; and good friends. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held in Erie later this year. Memorials can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
