Obituary of James Harold Jack

James H. Jack was born on March 29th, 1928 in Corning, New York. He is the son of the late Harvey N. Jack and Marguerite Tahany Jack. Jimmy was a graduate of Corning Free Academy. He also attended Syracuse University. He married Eleanor Ann Leva Jack on June 9, 1950. Jimmy served honorably in the United States Army Air Corps / US Air Force, 1946-1949, post World War II period. He was employed by the Corning Glass Works and the Corning Credit Union, active service for 30 years. Jimmy received his 75 year pin for active and retired service in 2020. He also held the office of Treasurer for the National Credit Union Association (NCUA) for a number of years. He subsequently served as Manager / Director for several other credit unions in different parts of the United States; including Houston, TX, Fayetteville NC, and Waldorf, Maryland. Jimmy was a parishioner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, for more than 30 years. In his free time, Jim served many years as a high school football referee. He was also a long time member of the Corning Elks, serving on the board along with a term as Exalted Ruler. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge. He was an avid supporter and proudly volunteered, yearly, for the Corning LPGA tournament. Jim was a devout Catholic who was instrumental in the construction of a new church for St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Murrell’s Inlet, South Carolina. Jim developed close relationships with many clergy, most recently, Pastor Father Eric of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in New Port Richey. He was also close with Father Hogan and Father Brennan, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in Corning and Father Edward Fitzgerald, St. Michael’s Catholic Church, in Myrtle Beach. Jim will be remembered for his staunch support and love for the New York Yankees, a fan for almost 90 years, the Syracuse Orangemen, family summers at Keuka Lake; the many family road trips and vacations; and the gentlemanly manner in which he always presented himself to his family and the world. James is survived by a son, Jay Jack (Stacy) in Woodbridge VA; and four daughters - Mary Jayne Milford (John) in Trinity, Florida ; Judy Jack in Ramrod Key, Florida; Cathy Kranich in Trinity, Florida and Patricia Jack in Jamestown, New York. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Candice (Michael), Brandi (Daniel), Nicholas, Emily, Nicole, Juliann, Michael, bonus grandchildren, Brenden and Alexander Kranich, as well as his great grandchildren; Tyler, Aiden, Lilly, and twins, Jacob and Jenna and Savanna Prichard. Jimmy also has several nieces and nephews, Mary Lou Goetz (George), Anne Ferraro, Martha Ferraro, Stephen Ferraro, Patricia and Art Markowitz, Jim Berto, Joanne Bond, Joyce Roddy, Joseph Berto, Rebecca, Courtney and Nicholas Ferraro and Ryan Barnard. In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his beloved wife of 49 years, Eleanor Ann Leva Jack; his second wife of 15 years, Joanne Jack (Griffiths); his twin sister, Patricia Jack Ferraro; and numerous in-laws; aunts; uncles; and cousins. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, January 21 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Morgan’s Funeral Home, 6025 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 22th, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 8320 Old CR 54, New Port Richey, FL. 34653. Burial will follow at a later date, with his wife, Eleanor, in St. Mary's Cemetery, with military honors, in Corning, New York. Jimmy was blessed to have several caregivers, this past year, keeping him busy; going to chapel, mass, the park, shopping. Thankful to Karen Vaugh-Kerns, Kim Horvath, Cindy Corvais, Kandy McNally and numerous others. He also had wonderful care, at Baycare North Bay Hospital, New Port Richey, during his last couple of weeks.
