Obituary of Paul John Coraci

Paul John Coraci, age 86 years, of New Port Richey, FL, passed January 16th at home, after a long battle with ESRD. He was born in Brooklyn, NY August 25, 1934 to the late Margaret & Leonard Coraci, and grew up in Detroit, MI. He met the love of his life, Marge Horne, and the two married in 1954. Paul & Marge lived in Hazel Park, MI where they raised 3 daughters. He was in the Army during the Korean War, he was a master tradesman working in the paint and tile industries, as well as a pari-mutuel ticket clerk at both the Hazel Park Raceway and Detroit Race Course. Paul was a devoted husband, loving father, and ideal grandfather who enjoyed fixing things, fishing, hunting, bowling, and swimming (teaching the kids & grandkids to swim and playing around in the pool). He is survived by his wife Marge Coraci (Horne) of 66 years; 3 daughters Linda (husband Gary) Penisson, Doreen (husband Allen) Gilbert, and Paula (husband Curtis) Welch; 5 grandchildren Melanie (husband Cody) Whitman, Gary (wife Joanna) Penisson, Rachelle (husband John) Hetzer, Christina (husband Sam) Cloutier, and Margie Welch; as well as 8 great-grandchildren. Paul enjoyed a long, happy life. He raised his kids, even had the opportunity to help raise some of his grandkids. He was able to do travel and go on cruises with his wife to explore new places and enjoy their retirement together. To honor Paul’s wishes there will not be a service, but rather would ask that his family and friends remember the fun times we all shared and to take care of one another.
