Obituary of Terri Ahmad

Terri (Vanderhoof) Ahmad If it sparkled, shined, had rhinestones, glitter, glitz or glam, it had Terri’s name on it. A lover of fashion, 60s music, Dunkin’ Donuts decaf coffee, shopping, shoes, patio sitting, and sunshine, Terri was a gracious and caring person who loved her family and friends very much. For more than a year she fought hard against cancer, and it was with much gratitude that her final moments were spent peacefully with her son, Humiar (Omar) Ahmad. There were not many things in life she enjoyed more than being with her family, and the pride and love she had for her son was overflowing. Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Family Feud were watched nightly, which she enjoyed with her father, George O’Meara. She was quite the trivia expert! Terri and George spent every morning with their “coffee club” and cherish and hold those memories and friendships closely. Terri was born in Goshen, NY and lived most of her life in Holiday, FL. Her bags were packed months ahead of time for her visits to Ohio where her son, Omar, and wife, Maggie Ellison live. Maggie and Terri binge-watched lots of Netflix and their favorite series was Stranger Things. She retired from American Greetings after 20 years of dedicated service and absolutely loved her post-retirement career at Burlington. Co-workers were like family to her and the dedication she had to keeping the fitting room tidy and in order was unstoppable. Welcoming her with open arms are her loving husband, Nisar Ahmad, her mother, Theresa O’Meara, her brothers, Vincent Vanderhoof and Georgie O’Meara, and her sister, Kathi O’Meara. She adored Christmas and is now spending it for the first time, in a long time, with people she has missed dearly. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family has elected to not host any services. Terri found comfort in feeding and watching the birds, and always had to visit the Columbus Zoo when visiting Omar and Maggie.
